 Tarangire Treetops is a
tree-house architecture
luxury safari lodge
located on the eastern
border of Tarangire
National Park in
Tanzania. Tarangire
Treetops is a wonderful
place to stay either at
the beginning or at the
end of a safari. The
lodge is just two hours
out from Arusha.
Tarangire Treetops sits
within a private
Conversation Area
bordering Tarangire
National Park, in the
path of Tarangire’s
elephant migration.
Tarangire is home to
some of the largest
herds of elephants in
Africa, passing the
lodge on their way to
watering at the Sand
River. Situated just at
the border outside the
park, the area has all
the same species of
wildlife as the
Tarangire National Park,
including leopards,
lions, cheetahs and
buffalos.

About
The
Tarangire Sopa Lodge is
built in a wooded
hillside valley
overlooking Tarangire
Hill. It has
wall-to-wall carpeting,
a private lounge with a
mini bar, a bedroom with
two queen size beds, an
en-suite bathroom with
shaver sockets and a
hair dryer, and a
private verandah which
offers stunning views
over the baobab studded
landscape. The unique
swimming pool which is
located at the edge of a
rocky gorge has its own
bar. The camp provides
close access to premier
wildlife viewing areas
of the park. Additional
activities include
tribal visits with
Datoga and bush walks in
the areas neighboring
the park. 
The lodge is built on
the elevated ridge of
the Tarangire River just
outside the Tarangire
National Park,
overlooking the deep
river valley and the
Tarangire plains.
Between July and
December wildlife can be
viewed from the rooms
and the main building
terrace. The lodge
consists of luxury tents
and bungalows, all with
a small veranda where
you can watch the
wildlife. The large
canvas doors of the
tents unzip to reveal
the bedroom, where you
find two comfortable
single beds and a
writing table and chair.
The Honeymoon Suite is
situated near a ridge
over the river and is
furnished with a large
double bed made of old
dhow wood. The bathrooms
have solar-heated shower
with hot water, flush
toilet, and a dressing
room. There's also a
swimming pool with a
water slide.
