Kilimanjaro is
the highest mountain in Africa and
of the largest extinct volcanoes. It
can be climbed anytime except in
April and may during the long rains.
January to March and August to
October are the best climbing
seasons. We use 2 routes which are
the easiest and the most accessible.

Day 1. Mombasa -Moshi
Depart from your hotel in the
morning and drive along the Mombasa
– Nairobi road to Voi town. Proceed
via Taveta boarder to Moshi town
.Dinner and overnight. [Meet your
climbing guide for briefing final
gear check ]
Day 2. Mandara Hut
After breakfast ,drive 45 kms to
Marangu gate [1,860 m ].Walk 9 kms
through dense semi – tropical rain
forest to madara Hut [2,744 m].
Dinner and Overnight.
Day 3.Horombo Hut
Depart early in the morning for a 10
hrs walk up to Horombo hut [3,761
m]. The landscape become more rugged
and rocky but superb, with mawenzi
and Kibo peaks in view. Dinner and
overnight.
Day 4. Kibo Hut
After breakfast ,proceed on a 6 hr
walk through spectacular mountain
vegetation to Kibo hut [4,732 m]
.Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. Uhuru Peak – Horombo
The final attempt to the summit is
made in the early hours of the
morning at 0200 hrs .It takes about
5 hours to the most difficult steep
part of the route to Gilman’s point
[5,681 m].From Gilmans, it takes
1.30 hrs to Uhuru peak [5,895 m
].Descend to Horombo Hut for dinner
and overnight.
Day 6. Horombo to Moshi
Descend is rapid.After breakfast
,walk down to Marangu gate and
transfer to moshi hotel for dinner
and overnight.
Day 7.Moshi to Mombasa
After breakfast transfer from Moshi
via Holili and Taveta boarder to
lion-hill restaurant for lunch.After
lunch drive back to mombasa arriving
in the afternoon.Dropoff at your
resident hotel.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro using the
Machame Route |
Day 1: Arrive Moshi
Upon arrival at the Taveta boarder,
you will be met by our
representative and transferred to
your hotel. Meet you climbing guide
for briefing and final gear check.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Moshi – Machame hut
(9,840ft/3000m)
Drive to the Kilimajaro National
Park gate at Marangu for entry
registration. Start the trek to
Machame hut through thick rain
forest. Have packed lunch on the
way. Dinner and retire for the day.
Machame – Shira hut (12,470ft/3800m)
Day3:
Ascend to Shira Hut past the Shira
plateau and through ridges and
valleys. Stay here overnight.
Day 4: Shira hut – Barranco
campsite (12,960ft/3950m)
Head eastward to junction where we
continue to Lava tower Campsite
(4510m),Located among glacier
streams. Descend to Barranco camp
thus allowing your body to adjust to
altitude change. Take the day’s rest
here.
Day 5: Barranco camp-Barafu camp
(15,090ft/4600m)
Across the karanga Valley and ascend
to Barafu campsite. Have dinner and
take the day’s rest ready for the
hike to the summit. Note: An extra
day for acclimatization can be added
by staying overnight at karanga camp
then proceed to Barafu camp the next
day.
Day 6: Barafu camp – Summit
(19,340ft/5895m)
Start at mid-night for the Summit (Uhuru
peak) arriving at sunrise. Descend
back to barafu for breakfast then
further down to Mweka Hut. Have
lunch and spend the rest of the day
relaxing.
Day 7: Mweka hut –Moshi
After Breakfast, descend to the gate
where a vehicle awaits to transfer
you to the hotel in town.
DAY 8: Depart Moshi
Depart Moshi for the Taveta border
and travel to Mombasa
