Tsavo West National Park

Main features in this smaller area
of Tsavo are the Chyulu Range
of hills and Mzima Springs which is
a stream of crystal clear water
erupting out of the soil and on
which a fascinating observatory tank
has been built. This is a watering
for a variety of wild animals and,
together with the water hole at the
base of the Ngulia Hills located
further
 west within the park) are the main
water sources in the park. This side
of the park is more heavily bushed
making it difficult to spot the many
varied animals. Large herds of
elephants do live on this side of
the park, you can easily spot
leopards and lions too. There is a
rhino sanctuary near the Ngulia
Hills covering an area of 105 Km
square. The cliff near Mzima springs
are home to a variety of Raptors.
